Lifelong Friendships, Everyday Fun

Thank you for a wonderful experience. Our daughter, Olivia, attended overnight camp for the first time this past week. She’s our oldest and, as with any first time experience with children, we had some apprehension. She did amazing, much better than we had expected she would, and she was beaming when we picked her up. Thank you, the wonderful JCA Shalom team and the great group of counselors and specialists for making this week such a meaningful and positive experience.  We especially appreciate the emphasis on character development and personal growth. Thank you also for your numerous and thoughtful emails and for being a parent guide from before children arrived at camp until after they left. We also appreciate the camp’s inclusivity and the fact that it brings youth from different places, even countries, together. We feel that Olivia came out of camp empowered and we, as parents, feel more secure about her.

My son Josh attended this first camp session of 2022 and said he had “an awesome time.” This was Josh’s first year away at camp and he was very nervous to attend. He came back with nothing but positive memories and said his counselors and bunk mates were all so great and that he wishes he never had to leave. He’s only teared up twice in the first 3 hours being home wishing he was back there already.
