FOR KIDS ENTERING 1st-8th GRADES!
NEW FOR SUMMER 2014:
Camp JCA Shalom Day Camp will be offering EXTENDED CARE. Extended care will begin at 8:00am and go until 5:00pm (except on Fridays).
For nearly 60 years, Camp JCA Shalom has been the "Camp for All Seasons" Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall, thousands of campers and staff experience the magic of Camp JCA Shalom. Camp's vision of Tikkun Olam "creating a better world" is fulfilled through positive Jewish experiences.
The magic and spirit (ruach) of campers everyday experiences coupled with developing a deeper sense of Jewish identity and the understanding that they belong to a diverse and dynamic Jewish community is why there is no better place to be a kid than at Camp JCA Shalom Day Camp at Kadima Day School.
Jewish values, tradition, spirit and Israeli culture are woven into camp days through songs, art, stories, sports, drama, games and celebrations. We believe in teaching campers responsibility (achreiyut), cooperation (shalom bayit) and repairing our world (tikkun olam) in a way that goes hand-in-hand with splashing in the pool, enjoying the perfect popsicle and shouting a camp cheer.
Campers also have fun! They participate in a variety of programs and activities daily, they make new and lasting friendships, and develop a wealth of new skills and interests. Our campers go home with a lifetime of cherished memories, new skills, and a positive self-image. It is truly an unforgettable experience for all!
The Best Place To Be A Kid!
Each day at JCA surprises, excites and amazes. Our incredible programs encourage campers to try everything; sports, cultural arts, aquatics and nature activities. Campers come together for Shabbat celebrations, cookouts, themed events, field trips to Camp JCA Shalom in Malibu, as well as our own Maccabi Games.
Every child feels a part of a very special family. Learning to share, making decisions, and experiencing independence are all part of a magical Camp JCA Shalom Day Camp summer.
What a Staff!
The heart of Camp JCA Shalom is our friendly and loving staff. Staff is carefully selected for their skills and sensitivity in working with children. All lead staff are certified in first aid and CPR by the American Red Cross.
All staff are required to participate in an orientation and training program prior to the campers' arrival.
Low camper-to-staff ratios ensure that each camper receives attention and guidance throughout his/her days at camp. In addition, we have talented staff who run our arts & crafts, nature/garden, dance, sports, aquatics, Judaica, and other specialty programs.
Our staff will be lead by Elisa Becker the Associate Director for the Shalom Institute. She has worked for the Shalom Institute for over 7 years and has been working in camping for 26 years. Elisa is very involved with the American Camp Association and always has the safety and fun of the campers as her priority
Convenience for Parents!
While the goal of our program is to give campers a fun and safe summer experience, we also know that day camp must be convenient for their parents. Camp is made up of one week sessions. In the Traditional Day Camp there is the added benefit of being able to decide within that one week how many days and which days your child will attend camp. Our regular camp program begins at 9:00 AM and ends at 3:30 PM. All new for Summer 2014 we have added Extended Care. Supervision will be provided before camp starting at 8:00am and after camp until 5:00 PM (except on Fridays). ALL CAMPERS MUST BE PICKED UP BY 3:00PM ON FRIDAYS.
