Camp JCA Shalom Day Camp will be held at Kadima Day School located at 7011 Shoup Avenue, West Hills, CA 91307. Campers should be dropped off and picked up from this location each day. Each family will have a “Day Camp” placard for the front window of their car. Extended Care Drop off will begin at 8:00am and regular drop off will begin at 8:30am.
Campers will be met at the cars by a staff member who will escort them to the playground. A staff member will be at the south gate until 9:15am, after 9:15 we ask that the parent park and walk their child into the school. From 3:30pm – 4:00pm staff will meet cars at the south gate and will call to have the appropriate camper(s) brought out to the car. For extended care campers parents should park their cars and come in to the school to pick up their camper(s). PICK UP ON FRIDAY IS BY 3PM FOR ALL CAMPERS.
Camp JCA Shalom Day Camp will offer Extended Care hours. Extended care will be from 8:00am – 8:30am in the mornings (Monday – Friday) and from 3:30pm – 5:00pm in the evenings (Monday- Thursday). Extended care must be paid for at the time of registration. PICK UP ON FRIDAY IS AT 3PM FOR ALL CAMPERS.
There are NO refunds due to absences of any kind. We are happy to provide make-up days as long as there is space available on the day you would like your child to attend. Make-up day requests must be received by email the Wednesday before the week of the requested make-up day.
Health, Safety, & Security
Health and safety are primary concerns at Camp JCA Shalom. All of our head staff members are certified in American Red Cross First Aid and CPR.
Security at Kadima Day School is there to protect and serve us. Every person and their vehicle are subject to inspection. Make sure you or whoever is picking your child up has i.d. on them when they come to the school. Please cooperate with any additional requests the Security Guards may have.
Campers must come with their lunches every day except trip day. Due to strict Kashrut regulations all meals should be vegetarian. Please remember campers are not allowed to bring peanut products in their lunches. There is a wide array of peanut butter substitutes at health food stores and Trader Joe’s. We will be providing kosher snacks daily. Additionally, because we are a green facility we ask that you send your child with a reusable water bottle.

Scholarships, payment plans and Jewish free loans
Through the generosity of the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles and individual donors, we have a financial assistance program, as well as interest-free payment plans. Thanks to the Morris Doberne Camper Experience Loan Fund, the Jewish Free Loan Association of the Jewish Federation arranges interest-free loans for families with children ages eight and older. Please contact us for more information on all these payment programs.
Payment in full is due June 2, 2017 (March 31, 2017 for Early Bird), unless you have arranged a payment plan. In fairness to the many families on the Waiting List, you must pay on time or your space will go to the next child on the Waiting List.
Camp JCA Shalom Summer 2017 Scholarship Fund
Camp Families will also be asked to make a voluntary contribution to the Scholarship Fund. This fund enables children needing financial assistance to afford this extraordinary Jewish camping experience. This opportunity appears on the enrollment form and will appear on your bill.
